Missy Schmidt

Vice President Marketing
Missy is responsible for the company's global user conference and all outbound communication, including sales and marketing campaigns, websites, social media, public relations and channel partnerships. She is tightly connected to the economic development, startup and entrepreneurial communities — both locally in southeastern Virginia and nationally. She serves on the board of directors of the Downtown Norfolk Council and is a member of the Hampton Roads chapters of various professional development organizations: the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA Norfolk), Public Relations Society of America, American Advertising Federation and American Marketing Association. Prior to joining xTuple in early 2012, Missy was vice president of strategic communication and marketing for the Hampton Roads Partnership, a public-private corporation working to improve the region's economy within the international marketplace. Missy holds a B.S. from James Madison University. She and her husband Bert, president and CEO of WHRO Public Media for Hampton Roads, reside in the "innovation corridor" of downtown Norfolk.
